Fr Stanley was born in Zambia. After leaving secondary school he joined the Missionaries of Africa, also known as the White Fathers. He was ordained in 1997 and has spent most of his priesthood in French speaking African Nations. In 2002 his superior asked him to go to Rome to continue his theological studies. He will be starting a year long course in Dublin in September 2004.
When the preist who was originally intended to cover for Fr Peter had to pull out, he asked Fr Stanley if he could stand in. He agreed, relishing the chance to re-discover his grasp of English. He stayed in Crayford during July and early August 2003.
His first stay was so popular with the parishioners here that Fr Peter asked him to come again during July 2004.
